„...L’art de Marc Kopil est un mélange d’innocence et violence, de dessin animé et primitivisme, de naïveté et raffinement. Si on cherchait ses racines, on pourrait retrouver ses empreintes en Suisse, dans les démarches plastiques d’Aloise Corbaz – les personnages candides du peintre suisse pourraient très bien inspirer  les anges et les princesses du peintre roumain qui a remplacé leur aura diaphane par une aura cynique – de même auprès Adolf Wolfli (on observe bien chez les deux artistes, dans certaines œuvres, des compositions très "chargées” qui témoignent d'une polémique puissante des couleurs et d'un "tissu” dense);  mais, celles de Marc Kopil ont toujours plus de vitalité générée par les tons éclatants qu’il utilise".

"...Marc Kopil’s art is a mixture of innocence and violence, of cartoons and primitivism, 
of naivety and refinement. If we were looking for his art roots, we could find some of its prints in Switzerland, in Aloise Corbaz’s plastic approach – the ingenuous characters of the Swiss painter could very well serve as ancestors for the princesses and angels of the Romanian painter, who replaced their diaphanous aura with a cynical one – and also in the approach of Adolf Wolfli. Both artists, in some of their very complex compositions, have a very powerful, controversial over colors and dense-cored tissue, but those of Marc Kopil will always gain in vitality generated by the very radiant tones he uses"

„...Alongside the emphasis of the process of self-knowledge and conceptual evolution, Marc Kopil’s work also speak about breaking off the classical myths in children’s literature. His work themes become critical, social, inspired from a cruel reality. The artist himself begins to invent stories, tales, which have, as main characters, real time people as we could discover, for instance, in paintings exploring the identity of the contemporary city’s inhabitants as in: "Delivery Boy" or „Mouche de Midi”.
The artist proves himself fascinated by the birth and the death phenomena; two existential realities surrounded by a rich mythology and an unfathomable mystery. Abandoning the fiercely colored medieval suavity of the princesses he painted in 2005, Marc Kopil reveals in a rather critical manner the dark mixture of the ingenuous age with the life conceiving experience.”
